Fragrance is in demand!  

A big lesson learned from the pandemic is that consumers want the comfort of fragrance in their lives and are willing to pay for it.  

   

Fragrance sales overperformed throughout the height of the pandemic, particularly in the United States. According to Perfumer and Flavorist magazine, 47% of fragrance consumers made a purchase as a treat for themselves in 2021. Prestige fragrance sales were up 49% and Nielsen IQ reported that mass fragrance sales were up 45%.  

  

In 2019, fragrance sector sales matched that of the skin care segment for the first time. Since then, the sales of perfumes, colognes, and other fragrance oils rose by 61% year over year. Additionally, candles, reed diffusers, and other home scent items grew by more than 20%.
